Hosting the Ultimate Zoom Dinner Party

Need some tips on hosting the ultimate Zoom Dinner Party?

With Galentine’s Day, Valentine’s Day, and probably a fair bit more of lockdown on the way, it’s time to spruce up those meals and Zoom calls with a dinner party. Be the ultimate host and get prepped with our guide.

Setting the Scene

We’re spending a lot of time in our houses, so why not redecorate the place for the party? We’re thinking about finally lighting those decorative bubble and twist candles, pulling out the ‘good plates’ and setting the scene with all the house plants we’ve amassed over the last year.

The Food

Pick a recipe between your friends, share this blog and get cooking! We’ve picked some easy recipes to whip up together.

Starters

Speedy Nachos

Who doesn’t like nachos? Just grab your tortilla chips, pour salsa and scatter a little (or a lot) of cheese on top. Grill for 3 minutes then add your guac and sour cream.

Baguette Pizza

Perfect for all tastes, just grab a baguette, cut it in half, load it with your fave toppings and grill for 6 minutes or until your toppings are cooked.

Tomato, Basil and Mozzarella Skewers

Super simple and healthy. Just add your tomatoes, basil and mozzarella balls to your cocktail stick and enjoy.

Mains

Easy Enchiladas

Ask everyone to gather their favourite ingredients, add them all to your tortillas, sprinkle some cheese, pop them in a dish and bake for 30 minutes.

The ultimate burger

Just cook your chosen patty, and create the ultimate burger with a brioche bun, favourite cheese, salad and sauce. Bonus points for homemade chips on the side.

Order a takeaway

We were all thinking it anyway 😉

Dessert

Choc Chip Cookies

Cookies are easy to make and super tasty. Check out BBC Good Food‘s 30 minute bake.

Death by Chocolate Brownie

This recipe takes 10 minutes prep and 30 minute cook time, perfect for a zoom call. Get the recipe on Delish.

Raspberry Oat Slice

For a more healthy option, why not try this oat slice from Delicious, with a 15 minute prep time and 45 minute cook time?

The Games

Leave it to the banter, host a mini workshop like making cocktails, clay making or painting, or play some internet games like Draw Something or Heads Up (Which, heads up, works very well on Houseparty with their filter). Want to chill out? Try a Netflix Party and watch a film together.

What to Wear

We’ll take any excuse we can to dress up at the minute, so pick your favourite fancy frock and get planning!
