The Brands you Need to Know in 2021

As we zoom full speed ahead into 2021, we’re looking towards the brands and trends you need to know for SS21.

SS21 trends seem to be bringing a lot of AW20 trends forward, truly pushing the smaller trends into the limelight. With disruptions throughout the year, and a real push on our sustainable impacts, it’s easy to see why fashion powerhouses are bringing forward silhouettes and fabrics, reducing waste from creating whole new seasonal trends.

This spring, look forward to more leather luxe pieces. This trend turns everyday looks on its head with soft, supple leathers, and plays on the chic material for evening and smart pieces.

As mom jeans started trending back in the mid-teens, denim has only got baggier. 90s baggy jeans have hit fashion heights in 2020 for their comfort and vintage styling, and loose jeans are set to reign in the next year. The skinny jean has clinged on in recent years, but it’s time for it to go, just like 2020 👋.

From upcoming powerhouses like Ganni to indie brands like Sister Jane, puff sleeves have (literally) been huge in 2020, and we’re looking forward to this trend continuing into 2021, to be seen on workwear and casual looks as well as occasionwear.

As the Zoom shirt became a key for 2020, and we head back to the office in 2021, we’ll be seeing a rise in the androgynous shirt. Smart plackets mix with boyfriend shapes for a smart yet comfortable look; a good shirt will never get old.

Spring knits in camel colours are set to trend, moving cosy winter lockdown shapes into the warmer season with finer knits and sweater fabrics, and short sleeves or cropped shapes. Finally, we can’t wait to see the alternative to camel- ‘joyful colours’; well needed after this year.

One thing that’s not set to wildly trend in SS21- florals for spring. Groundbreaking.

Whistles

Whistles mix up smart contemporary with modern style, which makes them a key brand for 2021 as lines continue to blur between work and play. The brand has mixed 80s cut-off shoulders as seen on tees and sweater vests, smooth silhouettes for comfy, casual looks, and crafted smart yet slightly boyish trenches, all in trending neutral colourways. Pieces coming soon include…

Selected Femme

Selected Femme will bring effortless scandi style to our 2021 wardrobes, perfect for bringing lockdown life outside. Expect neutral colours, loose shapes, spring knits, dainty dresses and trending puffs sleeves. Pieces coming soon include…

Hobbs

For cosy knits and smart pieces, Hobbs are set to be the go-to for 2021. With quintessentially British designs, their looks perfectly evoke the camel coloured, vintage-infused style, perfect for work and smart-casual looks.
